Event to watch: Handball

Effectively a combination of soccer and basketball, handball pits two teams of seven players on a 20-meter x 40-meter court.

Players can dribble the ball — although they can take three instead of two steps between dribbles — and have to throw it into the net to score a goal.

Germany and Denmark will square off for the gold medal at 7:30 a.m.
