Davante Adams reacts to Antonio Pierce’s apparent social media shade about Raiders trade

Davante Adams isn’t sure what Antonio Pierce meant with his ominous social media activity.

Last week, the Raiders head coach made veiled comments about “business decisions” that many construed to be about Adams, who then missed this past Sunday’s game against the Browns with what was labeled as a hamstring injury.

Then, internet observers noticed that Pierce “liked” a post on Instagram in which NFL analyst Michael Fabiano had said not to be surprised if Adams has played his last snap with the Raiders.

Appearing on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams,” the Raiders wideout was asked directly how soon he heard from his head coach since the social media activity went public.

“I haven’t heard from him. I haven’t talked to him,” Adams said.

“I don’t really know exactly what that was about. Obviously … social media is a beast, so there’s a lot of people out there that saw it and wondered what’s going on and are reaching out. So yeah, I haven’t spoken to him.”

The host, Kay Adams, said she was “surprised” by that, and the other Adams laughed.

“Honestly it’s hard to comment on. I’m sure you would imagine as such but it’s one of those situations where I just keep my head down and keep doing my thing and let the chips fall where they may as it pertains to that,” he said.

“There’s been no communication with anybody from the team since that became a thing,” Adams said. “But you know, it’s just kind of the weekly ‘What’s up with Tae’ thing. There’s always some sort of drama. But at the end of the day, 1-7 doesn’t create any of it. I’m just chilling, trying to be the model for not stirring the pot, and just locking in and doing what I gotta do.”

Adams also said that his hamstring is feeling better every day after he had an issue flare up at practice last Thursday, but that he’s unsure if he’ll be playing this week against the Broncos.

Rumors have been percolating since the summer about the possibility of Adams getting shipped to the Jets for a reunion with Aaron Rodgers as the tandem had great chemistry during their years with the Packers.
