Marcus Jordan breaks silence after troubling DUI arrest
Marcus Jordan issued his first comments since Tuesday’s arrest for DUI, cocaine possession and resisting arrest in Florida.
“I appreciate everyone reaching out. I’m focusing on @trophyroomstore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life,” Jordan posted Thursday on Instagram while tagging and including a photo of his Orlando boutique store.
“I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”
Jordan, the second-oldest child of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, sped away from an attempted traffic stop in Florida shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Video obtained by The Post showed police approaching Jordan before chasing after him.
The officers found Jordan not long after when his Lamborghini SUV landed on train tracks in Maitland around 1:14 a.m. ET.
Jordan told officers he had “taken a wrong turn and needed help getting his car off the tracks,” per TMZ.
Police also came to believe that Jordan had been “trying to get away from the area but couldn’t.”
He also name-dropped his world-famous father.
“Bro, I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son,” Jordan said to one officer. “I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home. And I made a wrong turn. OK?”
The responding officers then arrested Jordan after three field sobriety tests and the discovery of a white substance that would be confirmed via testing to be cocaine, according to court documents.
Jordan “did not do well in any of the trio,” per TMZ.
He allegedly slurred his words, had a “strong odor” of alcohol and had red, bloodshot and glassy eyes.
Jordan told police he had been drinking at a gentlemen’s club earlier in the night, but told the police his blood alcohol content was below the legal limit of .08.
The officers claim Jordan was combative with them during his arrested and he “was singing the entire way” while they transported him to Orange County jail.
He allegedly would not provide a breath sample once in custody, according to TMZ.
Jordan’s bail had been set for $4,000, per Page Six, and he was released Tuesday.
Jordan previously had an encounter with the law in 2012 when he pled no contest to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Omaha, Neb., while also being charged with obstruction an officer, per Yahoo.
He became famous when he dated Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of his father’s former teammate, Scottie Pippen, from 2022-24.
