He mentioned all the players that he “liked and respected” growing up, noting Carlos Beltran (whom he called a “mentor”), Roberto Alomar, Derek Jeter, Barry Larkin and Jimmy Rollins. He said, yes, he would love to be elected to the Hall someday and “be remembered forever in the game of baseball.”?
But he added it is not part of a daily obsession.
“I am not going online and typing what they did and then finding my stats and going year by year,” he said.
