Mercury, our planet of the mind and mouth, is flying out of the abstract, gentle, pastel pools of Pisces and into the hellfires of Aries this week.
While Mercury is blessedly out of retrograde, we’re still under the influence of the post-retrograde shadow. This means that despite the clear and incendiary energy of Aries — messages, metaphors, side eyes and meaning are still likely to be misconstrued and, given the influence of Mars, taken for fighting words.
Astrologer Julia Topaz of Look Up The Stars told The Post, “Mercury entering Aries means our internal monologue becomes external real quick.”
“Our mode of expression becomes bold, direct, and sometimes way too fast for its own good. Conversations become punchy, ideas come in hot, and there’s no more space for overthinking, just instinct,” she added.
Topaz notes that while Mercury in Aries is a time for clearing the air and trusting your gut — this ingress is anything but subtle. “Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of punch, action and speed. It doesn’t wait, it doesn’t ask twice, and it definitely doesn’t sugarcoat.”
Mercury enters Aries like a flare gun on April 15th and will remain in the sign of the ram until May 10th.
