Chiefs’ Rashee Rice admitted he was in six-car Dallas crash

Rashee Rice admitted to being involved in the six-car crash in a text to the company that owned the Lamborghini he leased, according to a TMZ report on Tuesday.

The Super Bowl-winning Chiefs receiver was in the Lamborghini that was racing a friend who was driving a Corvette he owned on the North Central Expressway in Dallas around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday leading to the massive collision, which included wrecking the Lamborghini.

According to TMZ, Rice texted The Classic Lifestyle, the company that owns the 2021 matte black luxury car he leases for $1,749 a day to say he was involved in the crash.

Rice was the only person permitted to drive the car, an attorney for Classic Lifestyle told TMZ.

The two drivers lost control of their vehicles, “causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles,” a police spokeswoman told the Dallas Morning News.

Two people were treated at the scene and two others were taken to the hospital, none with serious injuries.

Rice is cooperating with authorities, according to his attorney.

“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” attorney Royce West said in a statement to ESPN.

“Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”

The Chiefs and NFL are also investigating.

“In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point,” team president Mark Donovan told KCMO Talk Radio’s “Mundo in the Morning.”

“The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas, and fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt and we should be grateful for that. We’ll get to the bottom of it, we’ll gather the facts and we’ll react accordingly.”

Rice, 23, played in 16 games in 2023, making 79 catches for 938 yards with seven touchdowns, adding another 26 receptions for 262 yards and a score as Kansas City won a second straight Super Bowl to cap his rookie season.
