One of Biden’s ‘closest friends’ wants him to take a ‘complete neurological exam,’ president’s biographer reveals
President Biden’s biographer revealed Tuesday that one of the commander-in-chief’s “closest friends” thinks he should have a “complete neurological exam” and publicly release the results.
Chris Whipple, author of the 2023 biography “The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House,” told CNN’s Abby Phillip on Monday night about the startling plan pitched by one of Biden’s pals to fight back growing worries over the president’s cognitive decline.
“I will tell you that one of the president’s closest friends thinks that Joe Biden should go up to Walter Reed, have a complete neurological exam, release the results, and let the chips fall,” Whipple said.
“Now, I don’t think that friend has said this out loud to Joe Biden because that’s a hard thing even for a close friend to tell him, but I don’t think he’s going there without a major push,” the biographer added.
Whipple stressed that the friend and others in Biden’s inner circle believe the president is “fine cognitively,” but were concerned due to his poor debate performance against Donald Trump and the fallout it has brought.?
Since the debate two weeks ago, Biden, 81, has faced mounting calls from top Democratic representatives to step down over fears that his age will cost the party the 2024 election.
Whipple claimed the fears appear to be unfounded, but noted that the White House has only perpetuated those concerns by allegedly keeping Biden isolated and planning all his moves.?
The biographer, who also revealed that he only had contact with the president via written questions, summed up Biden’s White House as the most “scripted White House in modern history.”
