The heartbroken sister of subway push victim Kendra Webdale is still so devastated by her death that she sometimes wears her sibling’s clothes and visits the train platform where the grisly murder took place.
Kim Webdale, 34, tells Glamour magazine in its September issue she still feels “a physical ache in my heart” because of the tragedy.
The 32-year-old Kendra Webdale was pushed to her death off a subway platform Jan. 3 by Andrew Goldstein, 29, a schizophrenic who had not been taking his medication.
“That evening, I was so consumed with grief that I couldn’t think of anything but my sister,” Kim Webdale said. “I stayed up all night going through old photos of Kendra and reading letters she’d written to me when we were apart.
“Today, in order to feel close to Kendra, I listen to a tape of her voice from my answering machine, pull on her favorite cashmere sweater or go to the subway and place pink roses – her favorite flowers – on the spot where she was pushed,” she told the magazine.
