If the Giants are planning on harsh weather to help slow down the Vikings in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, they had better come up with a Plan B. According to Nick Gregory, meteorologist at FOX-5 TV, the conditions will not be severe at Giants Stadium and will actually be fairly balmy for this time of year.
Gregory said yesterday his long-range forecast for Sunday calls for a mixture of sun and clouds and temperatures in the mid-40’s.
“Relatively mild,” Gregory said. “There is a rain storm coming towards us, but it probably won’t get here until Monday.”
As an offensive machine that plays indoors in the Metrodome, the thinking is a cold, windy day would hurt the Vikings’ potent passing attack.
As for the notorious winds inside Giants Stadium, Gregory said, “I don’t see much at this stage of the game, but that could change.”
