Kobe Bryant surrendered samples of blood, saliva, urine and pubic hairs at a Colorado hospital last week after beingcharged with sexually assaulting a teenage spa employee, according to a law-enforcement source.
A former deputy district attorney in Eagle County – where the alleged crime occurred – said that such samples are taken as a matter of course whenever anyone is arrested for a sex crime.
“The sheriff would have had a court order for him to submit to this procedure,” said the former prosecutor, James Fahrenholtz. “This would not have been voluntary.”
Bryant did turn himself in on July 4 after the Eagle County sheriff got a warrant for his arrest.
Despite that warrant, the district attorney is under no obligation to prosecute Bryant.
