A Brooklyn DA wannabe withdrew from the race yesterday after firing some parting shots at the incumbent.
“Someone needs to replace [DA Charles Hynes],” said Sandra Roper, who quit the race yesterday, claiming she was hampered in her fund-raising abilities.
Roper made a respectable showing against Hynes in 2001 but was indicted two years later over accusations she bilked a client of $9,000. That case was dismissed in February.
Roper has long claimed Hines was behind the indictment in a bid to derail her chances in 2005, even though Hynes referred the case to a special prosecutor to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
