With construction of the Ground Zero memorial slated to begin later this month, Mayor Bloomberg said yesterday it’s time to move forward even if everyone’s not 100 percent happy with the design.
“You will never please everybody. I have some reservations . . . But we have to pull together and finally do something,” Bloomberg said.
The mayor’s comments followed a letter from the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. to members of its Families Advisory Council, saying the memorial was moving ahead and that many now-disputed elements were the result of suggestions from 9/11 families.
Some family members claim the below-ground memorial and museum lack sufficient exit ramps and will cover too much of the Twin Towers’ footprints.
