A homeless man shot a man and bashed him on the head on an Upper West Side street, authorities said yesterday.
Douglas Friday, 25, was busted on West 100th Street last Tuesday on charges of assault and weapons possession, sources said. That morning, Friday had allegedly shot his 22-year-old victim in the left leg and struck him with an object on West 90th Street near Columbus Avenue.
The victim was released after treatment at St. Luke’s Hospital.

A 15-year-old thief was arrested after he broke into his neighbor’s Upper East Side apartment and stole cash, jewelry and a laptop at knife point, authorities said yesterday.
The suspect, whose name was withheld due to his age, somehow gained access to the 30-year-old woman’s apartment on Madison Avenue near East 66th Street at 5:10 a.m. last Wednesday, sources said.
The teen, who lives in the same building but doesn’t know the victim, allegedly brandished a knife, stole the woman’s property and fled. Police arrested the youth two hours later in the building and charged him with burglary, robbery and possession of stolen property.

Police found a mortally wounded man on a Jackson Heights street last night. Cops received a report of shots fired at about 7:15 p.m. and went to 89th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, where they discovered the 27-year-old victim with several gunshot wounds to his torso.
The man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was rushed to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he died.
A source said the victim had an arrest record.
A man was shot in the leg early yesterday after a gun-toting thug attacked him on a Saint Albans street, police said.
The 37-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was wounded on 199th Street at 115th Avenue at 2:10 a.m. The victim was rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The gunman fled.
The Bronx
A gunman shot a man in the neck during an attempted robbery on a Highbridge street early yesterday.
The attack began at 4:30 a.m. on East 170th Street near Ogden Avenue, where the 29-year-old victim and two friends were confronted by a group of thugs. One tried to swipe jewelry and a cellphone from one of the victim’s friends.
The victim then grabbed a second suspect, but a third pulled a gun and opened fire.
The victim was struck in the back of the neck and the bullet exited his cheek. The victim and his friends ran away, while the gunman fired more shots at them. No one else was hit. The wounded man is in Lincoln Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

An innocent bystander was shot in both legs early yesterday when an argument turned violent.
The 29-year-old victim was walking home from a store on Sheridan Avenue and McClellan Street at around 12:30 a.m., when he heard a group of men arguing nearby.
When he got closer, he heard about six shots, felt stings in both legs and realized he’d been wounded.
He hailed a cab and was driven to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The gunman fled.
Brooklyn
Two off-duty city sanitation workers were arrested on drug charges in unrelated incidents, police said yesterday.
Michael Kalinowski was busted on a charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance at East Seventh Street and Avenue T in Sheepshead Bay at around 3 p.m. Saturday, cops said.
About 2½ hours later, Sebastian Tritto was arrested on the same charge at New Utrecht Avenue and 65th Street in Borough Park.
