A pair of cops saved the lives of two terrified straphangers after grabbing a violent maniac who tried to throw the riders onto the subway tracks in lower Manhattan, police sources said yesterday.
The two officers at the Fulton Street No. 2 station spotted Anthony Powell, 20, of The Bronx, on the northbound platform trying to shove two commuters to the track bed just after 4:45 a.m., sources said.
They identified themselves, and Powell allegedly responded, “I don’t give a f – – -! You’re a cop. I’ll f – – -ing kill you, too!”
The officers restrained him after a struggle, sources said. He was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
