“Resident Evil: Extinction,” a three-peat that takes Screen Gems’ video game franchise with Milla Jovovich (insert O.J. joke here) to post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, not surprisingly wasn’t screened for critics. Kyle Smith will have a review tomorrow, but already there are lots of notices at Rotten Tomaotes, where the reviews are running 18 percent positive. It has a grabby trailer, though, and not much competition so Gitesh Pandya at Box Office Guru pegs it for a $20 million opening. The outlook is less rosy for “Good Luck Chuck” with Dane Cook and Jessica Alba, which Kyle dubs “Chuck E. Sleaze” his half-star review (8 percent at RT) — and Gitesh predicts will produce around $12 million over three days. The other wide opening is “Sydney White” (2.5 stars from Kyle, 48 percent at RT) starring Amanda Bynes as a collegiate Snow White, whose expected $6 million cross will likely fall behind the $8 million that Gitesh predicts for “Eastern Promises,” expanding to 1,400 locations, as well as $7.5 million for the Jodie Foster holdover “The Brave One.”
