The feds are taking a look at a Manhattan man’s tale of toilet terror at 33,000 feet.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman said the agency is “looking into” Gokhan Mutlu’s allegations that a JetBlue pilot forced him to sit in the bathroom for almost three hours on a cross-country flight.
The standby passenger’s $2 million Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit says a flight attendant gave up her seat for him, but the pilot ordered Mutlu out of seat 2E about 90 minutes into the flight.
Mutlu was confined to the seatbelt-less bathroom even when the plane hit turbulence and the seat-belt sign was turned on. He was allowed to return after the plane hit even heavier turbulence.
FAA rules state that passengers must have their seatbelts secured whenever the sign is on.
Spokeswoman Arlene Salac said the agency will take a look at the case. A spokesman for JetBlue declined to comment.
