The major steals of busts of this fantasy season:
BIG STUDS
DeAngelo Williams
RB, Panthers
Hard to imagine D’lo would be listed here after averaging 8.8 fantasy points over the first six games in basic scoring leagues. But after that, he scored in double digits every week and averaged 19.5 per game. Not bad for a guy who likely was an eighth-round pick in your draft.
Aaron Rodgers
QB, Packers
On average, Rodgers was the 17-20th quarterback taken and often fell into the 12th round of drafts, meaning owners had him slotted to be their backup fantasy option. Nevertheless, Rodgers finished the season behind just Drew Brees in fantasy numbers.
Kurt Warner
QB, Cardinals
Had virtually an identical draft position as Rodgers (averaged late 11th-early 12th). But Warner finished fourth in scoring among QBs. Though, if you rode him to the playoffs, he paid you back with a no-show in New England.
BIG DUDS
LaDainian Tomlinson
RB, Chargers
By virtually any other standard, Tomlinson had a fine season. He ranked seventh at his position, and scored in double digits in 13 of his 16 games. But too often those scores were 10-12 instead of 20-plus. And for the No. 1 overall pick, you hope he can carry your team. LT did not.
Derek Anderson
QB, Browns
Forget Tom Brady and Carson Palmer. At least injuries destroyed their fantasy seasons – not so with Anderson. He lost his job because of poor play. He was a top 10 QB in the draft, yet finished ranked No. 33 at the position.
Joseph Addai
RB, Colts
Was among the top five in nearly every fantasy draft, but a variety of ailments kept his playing time and production limited. He finished the season ranked No. 36 at his position, averaging fewer than seven points a game.
