Gold falls
Gold slid to its lowest price since Nov. 3 at $1,073.50 an ounce as the dollar jumped to a 3?-month high on the euro. The news propelled US equity markets higher. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 50.79 to 10,464.93. The S&P 500 index rose 3.97 to 1,118.02, while the Nas daq composite index rose 15.01 to 2,252.67 — both at 14-month highs.
Perelman sued
Ronald Perelman, con trolling shareholder and chairman of cosmetics firm Revlon Inc., was sued by investors who say they didn’t learn until after swapping common for preferred shares that the price might rise sharply.
