You can’t say the Mets haven’t made any moves before the trade deadline anymore.
They shipped Mike Jacobs, who began the season in a platoon at first base with Fernando Tatis but was with Triple-A Buffalo since Ike Davis’ promotion, to the Blue Jays today for a player to be named.
In Jacobs’ brief stint with the Mets this season, he hit .208 with one home run and two RBIs.
The Mets promoted Nick Evans, who had been at Double-A Binghamton, to Buffalo, to take Jacobs’ spot in Buffalo.
