Two things shocked New Yorkers about Congressman Anthony Weiner this week: 1) That he traded bare-naked Twitpics with at least six women, and 2) The guy’s got great pecs.
“Before the shirt came off, Anthony Weiner looked more Capitol Hill than Jersey Shore,” says celebrity trainer Michael Ambro.
Ambro reveals four exercises for men who want Weiner’s lean but sculpted chest. He says 15 to 20 weekly reps of each will make pecs start to pop within a month.
1. Flat dumbbell pressesLie on a flat bench, extending dumbbells up and bringing the elbows down to a 90-degree angle, being careful not to let them drop below the torso. Bring the dumbbells back up without locking the elbow.
2. Incline flIes Lie on an incline bench, extending dumbbells up and out and then lowering the elbows. Then lift the weights as if you’re hugging a big tree.
3. Decline presses This is performed the same way as a flat dumbbell press, but on a downward bench, at a 45-degree angle.
4. Cable crossovers Hold the stirrups of a cable-cross machine perpendicular to your torso, then pull them downward until your hands meet in front of your lower stomach in a flex. You can supplement your workout with push-ups.
