The hotheaded father who allegedly sparked the brawl that led to the stabbing death of his football-star son was indicted yesterday for assaulting a parking-lot attendant, setting the tragedy in motion.
The indictment against Andre Muller indicates the two parking attendants will not be held responsible for the stabbing death of Isayhah Muller, 19, who was embroiled in the June 28 brawl.
When asked why the dad was not charged for causing the death of his son, Bronx DA spokesman Steven Reed said, “There is no view of evidence that would suggest the stabbing was not justified.”
The melee was sparked by Muller when he believed the attendants had stolen a $200 bottle of cologne he kept in his car, and allegedly came after them with a shovel. Isayah, a star running back for Truman HS, was killed when he rushed into the fracas to help his dad.
Muller was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and faces up to seven years in prison. He remains free on $10,000 bail and is due for an arraignment hearing on Jan. 12.
His lawyer, Lawrence Fredella, was unavailable for comment.
