INDIANAPOLIS – After a walk-through practice at the University of Indianapolis practice facility they used all week, the Giants on Saturday weren’t quite done with their preparation for Super Bowl XLVI.
The Giants will meet from 7:30 to 9:15 with a special teams meeting, followed by a team meeting to again review game situations. After that, the entire team will be shown a 3-4 minute highlight video set to music “to get them in the right frame of mind,’’ according to Tom Coughlin. After Coughlin speaks to the team following the video, it will be time for a team snack, something Rex Ryan no doubt approves.
The day started a bit off-kilter for the Giants, as one of the four busses from the team hotel to the practice facility broke down and had to be replaced. The delay was no longer than five minutes to complete the 51/2-mile trip.
According to the official practice report, the Giants went through a crisp, 48-minute walk-through practice with every player on the team in uniform and accounted for. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw showed barely a hint of soreness in his ankle as he went through all the scripted situations for the offense. In addition, safety Tyler Sash and defensive end Osi Umenyiora participated in the light-but-focused work.
“He looked fine, no soreness, nothing you could notice,” Coughlin said. “This was all situational stuff, nothing unusual. It was a Saturday morning jog-thru, all situations.”
The Giants began the practice with approximately 10 minutes of work on special teams situations. The team then alternated offensive and defensive series with backup quarterback David Carr playing the role of Tom Brady for the scout team offense.
