Orioles 2B Brian Roberts said he will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip.
The Astros traded third baseman Chris Johnson to the Diamondbacks for minor leaguers Bobby Borchering and Marc Krauss. … All-Star closer Huston Street and the Padres agreed to a $14 million, two-year contract through 2014.
GOLF: Piercy wins Canadian Open
Scott Piercy won for the second time in his career when he closed with a 3-under 67, and William McGirt and Robert Garrigus stumbled on the closing stretch at the Canadian Open in Ancaster, Ontario.
