Hannouche is “unadventurous,” and limits herself to mascara and eyeliner, but would like to shake things up. Her new look is modeled on the unflappable celebs who step off the plane looking well-rested and glowing — like Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet and Marion Cotillard (inset). “They’re queens of the neutral, no-color makeup look, but never look pale or washed out,” Lustig says. With no real beauty routine, the most McKenzie will do is play up her eyes with a little shadow here and there. “Makeup is something which comes way down my list of priorities,” says McKenzie.

Instead, they create their own modern, fashion-conscious trends that exude youth and good taste. “This style is not understated, but it turns heads for the right reasons,” says Lustig.

Verdict: “This has given me the confidence to experiment more,” says McKenzie. “It’s great to know you don’t have to spend a fortune to look this good.”

Next up is the “Stila spot.” Lustig dots a sheer gold shimmer shadow — such as Stila’s eye shadow in Kitten, $18 — right onto the middle of the lid, pressing it in to help it blend into the skin and darker eye shadow. This makes the eyes pop.
Verdict: “I feel glamorous and expensive, but it’s way more makeup than I’d ever normally wear,” says Kaye.
