A suspect stabbed a straphanger over a seat on a subway train in Mott ?Haven, authorities said. An argument erupted aboard a southbound 2 train approaching the Third Avenue East 149th Street station at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, cops said. The assailant took out a sharp object and stabbed the 25-year-old victim in the abdomen and left arm, then fled the station. The victim was not seriously injured, police said. The suspect is described as a heavy-set man between the ages of 40 and 50 with salt-and-pepper hair.
Police on Tuesday arrested the gunman who shot a 14-year-old boy in Hunts Point, authorities said. Sagonie Urdaz, 16, fired several rounds at 163rd and Simpson streets at 9:45 p.m. Friday, police said. One of the bullets struck the teen in the left arm. It’s unclear if the boy was the gunman’s intended target, cops said. The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital and ?released. It’s not immediately clear what sparked the gunfire, officials said. Urdaz was arrested Tuesday.
A man was shot in Foxhurst, authorities said. The 24-year-old victim was outside a building on Vyse Avenue near East 172nd Street at 10:30 p.m. Monday when the unidentified gunman shot him in the back, shoulder and hip, cops said. The victim was not critically injured, officials said, and no arrests have been made.
Brooklyn
A gunman shot a 22-year-old man twice in the leg in Crown Heights, authorities said. Surveillance video shows the victim sprinting along Franklin Avenue near Park Place at 3:25 p.m. last Friday with the shooter pursuing him and firing wildly. Police rushed the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, cops said. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and 150 pounds.
Two suspects robbed a Kennedy Fried Chicken restaurant in Bushwick and made off with two TVs, authorities said. One robber used a hydraulic jack to open the roll-down gate of the eatery on Wilson Avenue near Gates Avenue sometime between July 17 and 20, cops said. Video shows the suspect dressed in a camouflage jumpsuit moving around a dark kitchen holding one of the TVs while carrying a flashlight in his mouth. The thief then handed the TVs to a cohort waiting outside, police said.
A thief stole nearly $11,000 worth of jewelry from a Cobble Hill apartment, authorities said. The burglary took place at the apartment on Clinton Street sometime between June 3 and last Saturday, with the thief using a key to open a safe and remove a diamond ring worth $10,000, police said.?The suspect also removed several other pieces of jewelry with a total value of about $1,000. The 26-year-old female resident returned from vacation over the weekend, discovered the burglary and contacted authorities. The victim told cops that a friend had been house-sitting while she was away and had entertained several guests. Police did not immediately identify a suspect.
Queens
A person broke into a private home in Astoria and stole a laptop computer, cops said. The burglar entered the home on Crescent Street near 41st Avenue through the basement sometime between 2 and 4 a.m. June 11, cops said. The 47-year-old resident said the computer had been on the kitchen counter and there was no sign of forced entry. The computer has an estimated value of $1,200, the owner reported.
