Halliburton lets deadline pass on $35B Baker Hughes deal

Halliburton let a Tuesday deadline pass without reaching an agreement with the Department of Justice over its proposed $35 billion acquisition of Baker Hughes.

The Post reported exclusively on Monday that Halliburton would let the review period expire unless the feds gave it clarity on what it needed to divest to alleviate antitrust concerns.

The No. 2 and No. 3 oil-services companies said they would continue to talk with the Justice Department, which hasn’t sued to block the deal.
