Yes, alligators are common in Florida — but this is ridiculous!
Videos posted to YouTube over the years show gators frolicking inside Disney World, just feet from unsuspecting parkgoers and iconic rides, such as Splash Mountain and Tom Sawyer’s Island.
One of the most recent clips was posted in October 2015 and shows one of the sharp-toothed creatures floating around the Rivers of America — an artificial waterway that runs from Frontierland to the Seven Seas Lagoon, where little Lane Graves was killed Tuesday night.
But the most frightening footage can be found in a video from 2009, which shows a gator lurking in a body of water that’s positioned right at the bottom of Splash Mountain.
People on the famous log flume ride can be seen passing right by it, without a clue, just smiling and laughing as a lone Disney employee swats at the animal with what appears to be a pool skimmer.
Another video posted in 2013 shows one of the reptiles in a pond located at Coronado Springs Resort, which is a 15-minute drive from the Grand Floridian.
One posted just two months ago shows a large alligator, likely measuring over 6 feet, floating in a body of water located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort, which is about 5 minutes from Coronado Springs.
A three-legged gator — dubbed Tripod by locals — has also been caught on camera cruising through the canal that connects the Rivers of America to the Seven Seas Lagoon.
