A former de Blasio administration employee is expected to spend up to three years behind bars after pleading guilty Tuesday to possessing kiddie porn.
Jacob Schwartz, 31, copped to the top count against him, promoting a sexual performance by a child, in exchange for one to three years in prison.
Manhattan prosecutors argued that Schwartz should be held without bail pending sentencing July 2, but Justice Steven Statsinger released him on $7,500 cash bail.
For months, Schwartz’s lawyers had been pushing for a no-jail sentence, but prosecutors wouldn’t budge on their recommendation of prison time.
Schwartz was arrested in 2017 for allegedly downloading more than 3,000 sick child-porn images and 89 videos from the internet involving girls as young as 6 months old.The political perv was the president of the Manhattan Young Democrats and downstate regional vice president of the New York State Young Democrats before both groups abruptly cut ties with him when the allegations came to light.
His father, Arthur Schwartz, is a labor lawyer and Democratic insider. The son helped his dad campaign for Democratic district leader in Greenwich Village, according to an online bio.
The younger Schwartz was employed as a $66,360-a-year computer programmer analyst in the city’s Department of Design and Construction. He was promptly terminated after his arrest.
