The US Air Force vet and Nazi sympathizer accused of shooting an Oklahoma woman for swiping the swastika flag outside his home has reportedly committed suicide while awaiting trial.
Alexander John Feaster, 46, died this month from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the Smoking Gun, which cited Tonkawa Police Chief Nicholas Payne.
Feaster, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was found dead Feb. 9 in his mother’s home, the news outlet reported.
He allegedly shot 26-year-old Kyndal McVey in the back outside his home in 2020, claiming she put him in “imminent danger of death or great bodily harm” when she swiped his flag, according to court papers.
McVey had been at a party across the street from Feaster’s house around 3 a.m. June 28 when someone dared her to yank down one of his two Nazi flags, according to local police.

As she bolted back to the party with one of the flags, someone yelled “Gun!” — and Feaster opened fire with his AR-15 rifle, striking her several times in the lower abdomen and legs.
She was hospitalized for several weeks but survived, and Feaster was charged with felony counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
In February, McVey reportedly filed a negligence lawsuit against Feaster for $75,000 for medical expenses and mental and physical pain and suffering.
Feaster, who was released on $75,000 bail pending a court appearance in March, claimed he acted in self-defense?and that he was the victim of a hate crime.
His suicide came two months after a judge denied his “Stand your ground” immunity motion, the Smoking Gun said.
Last week, a judge dismissed the charges against Feaster after learning about his death, according to the outlet.
While previously arguing that his $500,000 bail should be reduced, Feaster had claimed he was a “patriotic citizen” and “loyal American” whose political beliefs made him a victim of harassment — but investigators said he had been waiting for someone to try to steal his flags.
They said his own security system recorded him shooting McVey while she was “obviously running away from his residence with only a flag in her hand,” according to a prior report by the Smoking Gun.
