Former NYPD police commissioner Keechant Sewell all smiles during Mets locker room celebration amid City Hall scandal

She had an 础尘补锄颈苍’ day.

Former NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell, who threw the Adams administration a curveball when she abruptly resigned before taking a new role with the Mets, had a blast during the team’s playoff berth celebration as City Hall is being rocked by the fallout from a federal probe.

Sewell reportedly ticked off many City Hall officials over her decision to step down as the department’s first female top cop in June 2023 after a year and half on the job, but she seemingly got the last laugh Monday during the Mets’ locker room festivities.

She could be seen smiling, snapping pics, hugging others and getting showered with champagne in the background of a SportsNet New York clip following the Mets’ win — a far cry from the scene at City Hall as her former boss Mayor Eric Adams was indicted for conspiracy and bribery charges while her predecessor, Edward Caban stepped down as commissioner this month.

“She is a lot happier than anyone in the NYPD today,” a Staten Island cop told The Post Monday night.

Sewell landed a newly created public safety role with the Mets in November 2023. She had not only the team’s Monday win to celebrate but possibly some overdue karma.

She reportedly said one of the reasons she left the NYPD was because “someone will be leaving this administration in handcuffs,” a police source said.

The first female commissioner was essentially forced out of the NYPD by being pushed to the “breaking point” by Adams and his top, now embattled, advisers, sources previously told the Post.

She was reportedly rendered nearly powerless to lead the nation’s largest police force that she was hired to head by ego-driven former cops and Adams allies in the administration.

Adams’ longtime pals, Deputy Mayor Philip Banks and top aide Tim Pearson, often went around Sewell, undermining her authority and making the commissioner job a figurehead role, sources said.

Pearson announced his resignation Monday amid the escalating federal probe into City Hall. His phone was seized earlier this month as part of a series of dramatic federal raids and he’s being eyed for an alleged kickback scheme in awarding city contracts.

“I guess she got the last laugh after being forced out by Adams and his crooked cronies,” another police source said of Sewell.
