Thankfully, our wish will come true when Jalen Brunson, Karl Anthony-Towns, Mikal Bridges and the squad take on Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 25.
As of now, Tom Thibodeau’s squad sits at 16-10, which pits them at third place in the crowded Eastern Conference behind the streaky Cavaliers and 2024 NBA champion Boston Celtics. Prior to the Yuletide matchup with the Spurs, the Knicks will take on KAT’s former team, the Timberwolves on the road (Dec. 19). After that, they head to the Big Easy for a showdown with the Pelicans (Dec. 21) before returning home to take on the Raptors on Monday, Dec. 23.
The Spurs come into Christmas at a bit of an inflection point. They’re currently 13-13 but without head coach Greg Popovich who suffered a stroke on Nov. 2. Interim head coach Mitch Johnson has taken his place while the 75-year-old Popovich recovers. Under Johnson, the team has gone 11-10 and have won two of their last three.
