Brennan Othmann is not one of the 10 players drafted by the Rangers in the first round who never wore the Blueshirt for even a single game with the 16th-overall selection from 2021 having gotten into three contests the middle of last season.
But I am concerned that the 22-year-old winger will never get a fourth game with the Rangers and will instead be used as bait to acquire a rental property prior to the March 7 trade deadline in an effort to qualify for the playoffs.
Perhaps it would be a better idea for the Blueshirts to recall Othmann — who has scored a goal in five of his last six games with the AHL Wolf Pack — following the 4 Nations Face-Off to get a legitimate look at him before casting him aside in a small-picture move that I would perceive as shortsighted.

Not perhaps, by the way.
