Oscars 2025: Full list of nominees and winners
And the Oscar goes to …
The 97th annual Academy Awards were hosted by Conan O’Brien at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The biggest movie stars in Tinseltown flocked to the A-list affair on Sunday, March 2, marking the end of the 2025 awards season.
Going into the show, Zoe Salda?a and Selena Gomez’s “Emilia Pérez” had earned the most nominations with 13. The 2024 flick, which also features the controversial star Karla Sofía Gascón, set the record for the most-nominated non-English language film.
All eyes were set on Demi Moore, who, for the first time in her decadeslong career, was nominated to win a Best Actress Academy Award for her role in “The Substance.”
But she was up against some stiff competition — and Mikey Madison (“Anora”) took the win in a major Oscars upset.
“A Complete Unknown,” “The Substance,” “The Brutalist,” “Wicked,” “Anora,” “Conclave,” “Emilia Pérez” and more vied for the ultimate prize — the coveted Best Picture award, which also went to “Anora.”
The award show came with its share of snubs, too. Angelina Jolie for “Maria,” Nicole Kidman for “Babygirl,” Pamela Anderson for “The Last Showgirl” and Denzel Washington for “Gladiator II” are just some of the stars who were shockingly overlooked for 2025 Academy Awards nods.
