Why Abercrombie is popular again in 2023, plus 15 styles we reviewed
Let’s cut to the chase: Abercrombie has been popping off lately, and that’s (1) super nostalgic and (2) super exciting that the American-classic brand is having a surefire comeback moment.
You likely remember its brown stitched moose as the coveted emblem on every button-up polo and striped sweater on its mall-exclusive hangers in the 90s. Ever since, Abercrombie has been establishing itself as a top destination for elevated basics, quality fabrics and minimalist-inspired wardrobe styling.
“There are those elevated essentials, those favorites, those must haves, those loves that you see all over TikTok and elsewhere that are about fit,” Megan Brophy, VP of brand marketing and strategy at Abercrombie, told the New York Post in an exclusive video interview. “They’re about quality, they’re about versatility. There’s they’re more like that capsule wardrobe pieces that you have to have and you want in your closet. You need you want to be able to wear them in a ton of different ways. That is so much of the core of what we offer.”
Much like every teen who was obsessed with boy bands and MTV, I’ve been shopping at Abercrombie since middle school (and yes, I’m not a 90s kid; I was born in the new millennium in 2000 when that was considered the coolest thing ever). My older sister who was born in ’89 was beyond obsessed with Abercrombie — its denim, its collared tops, its belts — and I slowly followed suit. Now, Abercrombie is the hallmark of fashion for both women and men, cataloging styles that won’t disappear with rotating trends.
“Our denim continues to have moments of sell out for sure are tailored pants have really taken off [and] our Sloane pant you’ll see that all over TikTok — a mix of vegan leather and now kind of vegan leather,” Brophy adds. “Our bodysuits are a huge love dresses are having a resurgence as we all just want to dress up a little bit more again as we reenter the world.”
Ahead, I pulled 15 pieces that I have in my closet that are worth every penny. Whether you’re treating your mom to a shopping spree or feel like investing in some staple wardrobe pieces, Abercrombie has that it-factor. And, it’s back, baby.

When I tell you I have Abercrombie’s Long-Sleeve Seamless Fabric Scoopneck Bodysuit in a variety of colors — I ain’t kidding. Whether I’m off to grab dinner with friends or off to a work meeting, I can always rely on this trusty, comfortable fabric for pairing with wide-leg pants or jeans alike.
What I love most about this top is its breathable fabric. It’s the perfect transitional weather top with a flattering scoop-neck detail and, with it being a bodysuit and all, a flattering fit.
2. Curve Love High Rise 80s Mom Jean, $90
Abercrombie has a fully stocked SKU list of jeans to choose from, but there truly are none other than its Curve Love High Rise 80s Mom Jean. For less than $100, its magnificent fit is what will draw you in — literally.
Its cinched at the waist and a bit more straight-leg at the bottom, nodding to Hannah Montana’s ‘Best of Both Worlds’ anthem. Better yet, it has an exaggerated wash near the pockets and hem to give it that classic denim charm.
3. Curve Love Vegan Leather 90s Straight Pant, $110
With just one scroll on Instagram, you should have seen Abercrombie’s Curve Love Vegan Leather 90s Straight Pant at least once. They’re truly worth the hype, thanks to its fleece-like interior and crisp leather exterior. They pair well with booties, too.
4. Smocked Bodice Poplin Midi Dress, $110
I am so excited for the warm weather, mostly because I’ll get to wear Abercrombie’s Smocked Bodice Poplin Midi Dress. It’s riveting, it’s feminine and it’s giving all of the lovely pops of color it needs to give. With a pair of nude heels and some hoop earrings, you’re golden.
5. Curve Love High Apex Underwire Bikini Top, $55

One, two, three, buy. There’s nothing more confidence-driving than a quality bikini, and the Curve Love High Apex Underwire Bikini Top — paired with the matching Mid-Rise High-Leg Moderate Bottom fits the bill. 6. A&F Sloane Tailored Pant, $90

13. Nautical Destination Mini Sunday Crew, $70
Simply put, any of Abercrombie’s crewnecks are beyond compare. I’m typically a size XS in clothing, but I love swimming in a medium-sized one to lounge around the house. Not to mention, I love wrapping them around my waist to head to the beach when it’s a bit windy.
14. Featherweight Rib Sleep Short, $29
Everyone deserves a good pair of sleep shorts in their PJ drawer, and Abercrombie’s Featherweight Rib Sleep Short is one of my favorites. They’re so lightweight — it’s like wearing undergarments, but with more coverage, obviously — and are well-priced at just $29.
15. Tailored Relaxed Straight Pant, $90
I can’t rave about Abercrombie’s Tailored Relaxed Straight Pant enough. They’re incredibly warm (but you won’t sweat in them) and are clad with a polished, clean look. For the quality you’re receiving, I’m surprised they’re not upwards of $200.
