Legendary classic rockers The Eagles just announced their farewell ‘Long Goodbye Tour’ with special guest Steely Dan that will take flight Thursday, Sept. 7 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
They’ll also swoop into Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center on Saturday, Sept. 16 and Long Island, NY’s UBS Arena on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
At the time of publication, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have just 19 upcoming shows on their 2023 ‘Long Goodbye Tour’ itinerary.
However, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Glenn Frey’s son Deacon Frey have claimed that the likely international tour will extend all the way into 2025.
According to the band, this felt like the right time to start saying their goodbyes.
“Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers shared in a statement. “But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”
“This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

When you’ve been around since 1971 (!), a bit of shuffling when it comes to your group’s lineup is to be expected.
Still, to this day, 75-year-old, founding member Don Henley (drums, vocals, also known for the ’80s smash “Boys of Summer), continues to tour with the group.
On the road, he’ll be joined by 75-year-old Joe Walsh (also of the James Gang and Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band), 75-year-old Timothy B. Schmit (bassist and vocalist, played with Poco), 22-time Grammy winner 65-year-old Vince Gill and the late Glenn Frey’s 30-year-old son Deacon.
Over the course of their illustrious career, the band has racked up six Grammy awards, performed over 1000 concerts and sold 150 million albums.
